I can help you work through a difficult time in your life. Perhaps you are struggling with stress, anger, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship issues or bereavement amongst other areas (see services tab). I am committed to providing a warm and supportive relationship, in which you are the sole focus to help you work through your concerns.
People often seek out counselling with me when a stressful change is taking place which can, at times, feel overwhelming which can play a major part in people’s unhappiness.
Often people come to me knowing that they need help as ‘things don’t quite feel right’ and maybe are unable to pinpoint the problem. In my experience issues do not get better or disappear without help, together we can look at what changes you’d like to make and start implementing them.
As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I work with the belief that we all can reach our full potential, in whatever that looks like, although sometimes life isn’t always easy and our own thoughts or events that happen to us can easily upset or overload us.
In our sessions together, we can help you work through a difficult time in your life, or maybe struggling with feelings that are overwhelming, or maybe anxious and stressful, which plays a major part in people’s unhappiness. Together, in a safe and non-judgemental space you can start to explore ways to manage any challenges and help move toward where you want to be in life.
We can also look at providing all the additional help such as practical tools within counselling, if that is helpful within the approach.
In my work I cover a wide range of issues, you may have something in mind that you wish to work on or you may just need some concentrated time to focus on you which is all ok. Although I may have worked with similar issues to yours, I appreciate that each person is different however similar the circumstance may sound they are different for everyone, I appreciate the unique needs and wants each client brings.
Hopefully, we can make you feel a little lighter, brighter and more positive after our work together all conducted in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions around the issues that are troubling you.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and follow their ethics, standards, and procedures to ensure I work in your best interest.
My counselling journey began volunteering for various charities such as CRUSE (Bereavement Care), MIND (Mental Health) and working with children and young people at a highly respected school and college.
